Hello everyone! I did not have the time to give you updates about yesterday so I will do both days! Yesterday we had a delicious buffet with many fruits! We then began our hair and makeup at 10:00 to prepare for the big day ahead. We had to do photo shoot  video shoot and interview.

It was a rushing day, we had no schedule but had to get ready in time for everything! I had a blast doing my photo shoot and I can’t wait to get a sneak peak of it!  I was wearing a pig puffy purple dress with a nice smoky eyes makeup and loose big curls! I would really like to thank all the volunteers

that helped with the hair and makeup!

After the photo shoot I went to the video shoot and had lots of fun introducing my

self and answering 3 questions on camera! I had to do it a few times before I get it right, but it was still very fun!

I finished with my favorite part, the interview! We had to wait for a few hours but it was worth it because I had a lot of fun talking to them and everything went well!

We finished the night with dinner and I tried to go to bed as soon as possible because I knew we had to wake up really early in the morning!

I will blog again tomorow, keep looking 🙂

Hello Canada, Today was such an amazing day, I don’t even know where to start! I didn’t sleep at all last night because of all the excitement. When I went to check out my room I me Christie and Michelle W for the very first time, it was fun meeting each other after a few months of chatting on facebook!  I then checked in my new room and got everything settled up and tried to get as much organized as I could before my roommate arrived because two girls in a room with tons of jewelry, clothes and shoes can be quite a mess! After a while I met my roommate Melanie Renaud! We are so much alike! We both have long brown hair and we both are waitress at a bar and grill restaurant, how cool is that? 🙂

After 3 hours of talking, relaxing and waiting for our chaperone to come get us, we finally got to the welcoming party where we met all the other girls, we are almost 70 girls this year! Everyone was so kind and it was nice to get to know each other. I was also reunited to my Northern Ontario pageant sisters, it was nice to see Hailey, Hannah, Celeste, José and Jacqueline again!

We got to meet some of our sponsors!:)

Thanks to hi-tech for our free running shoes, I love the pink ones so much!

Hello Canada, If you could go on a trip anywhere in the world with your friends where would you go? That’s a very good question. There are so many places I would like to visit, some is for languages I would like to learn, food I would like to taste, beaches I would like to tan on, cruises, shopping , history, culture and many more. For over 35 years S-Trip! has been a leader in student travel providing life-changing trips to over 40,000 students annually in over 40 destinations around the world. S-Trip! travelers are encouraged to become global citizens; opening their eyes to new cultures, languages, and experiences. Recently named Profit Magazine’s 25th fastest growing company in Canada, and recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies by Deloitte and CIBC, S-Trip! is a leader in student travel in North America. Find out more at www.s-trip.com. The place I would choose to go on a trip with my friends would be Egypt. I would probably bring my two closest friends; Danica and Jessie, I am sure we would have a blast. Out of every places in the world I choose Egypt because Egypt is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. Not only does   Egypt has many tourist attractions, but also, Egypt is one of the countries that   has some of the finest beaches world wide. Egypt has a moderate climate all over   the year, during the winter time you can escape the cold and snow in your   country by traveling to places like Luxor & Aswan in Egypt, Egypt is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. I would definitely take this opportunity to go on camel! When I used to learn about Egypt in school it has always been my favorite subject! I would also like to visit all the pyramid and learn more about their cultures and their history.  I would definitely like to learn a few words or a few sentences in Arabic language. Learning how to read or write it would be awesome too! Most people who visit Egypt have little problems with communications because  those working in the tourist sector are usually adept in at least several  differentlanguages. Typically, most of them speak some English, and many of  them fluently. French is also a traditional language, but so too is German and  Italian. Perhaps less common, are the Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese  languages, but of course there are specialized guides that are also fluent in  most any language, who accompany various tours. Nevertheless, if one escapes the confines of a tour group and ventures out  into normal Egyptian neighborhoods, some command of the local language of Egypt  is very helpful. Upscale shops, restaurants and other establishments will  usually have multilingual personnel, but many common Egyptians one comes into  contact with may only have such communication skills. Typically, one may find  someone nearby that can translate, but not always. Furthermore, Egyptians are  always impressed by foreigners who have made some effort to learn their  language, and will go out of their way to accommodate them.

I have always been a big fan of animals, we have horses, fishes, a cat, a dog and we used to have a rabbit too! I would like to see the different kind of animals they have in Egypt! I made some research and I found the kind of birds , fish, livestock, pets and wildlife they have!

Birds: falcon, kite, goose, crane, heron, plover, pigeon, ibis, vulture and owl.
Fish: carp, perch and catfish Rilapia or Chromis and the Abdju fish Nile carp, the Oxyrynchus or the Phagrus.
Livestock: sheep, cattle, goats, pigs, geese and later horses.
Pets: monkeys, ducks, geese, pigeons, hoopoes, falcons, cats, dogs and even ferrets.
Wildlife: lions, cheetahs, wolves, antelope, wild bulls, hyenas, jackals, snakes, the mongoose and desert hares, crocodiles, hippos, turtles, frogs, bees, scarab beetles, locusts, flies, centipedes, scorpions, and tarantulas. ( I wouldn’t want to see these
!)

This animal is so cute!

EW, I don’t like snakes!

These are 10 of the places that I would really want to visit in Egypt!

Mosque of Ibn Tulun

Mosque of Ibn Tulun

Built between 876 and 879 AD, the Mosque of Ibn Tulun is one of the oldest mosques. It was commissioned by Ahmad ibn Ţūlūn, the Abbassid governor of Egypt. The mosque is constructed around a courtyard, with one covered hall on each of the four sides.  The minaret, which features a helical outer staircase similar to that of the famous minaret in Samarra, was probably built several centuries later. Parts of the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me were filmed at the Mosque of Ibn Tulun.

Dahab

Dahab

Dahab is located some 85 km (53 miles) north of Sharm el-Sheikh on the Gulf of Aqaba, near the southern tip of Sinai. Once an isolated coastal village, Dahab turned into a hippie hangout in the 1980′s and became something of an “alternative resort”, mixing cheap accommodation with a laid back lifestyle. Activities such as wind surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and camel and jeep trips make it one of the most popular destinations along the Red Sea.

Siwa Oasis

Siwa Oasis

Located in the Libyan Desert, Siwa Oasis is one of Egypt’s isolated settlements, with 23,000 people, mostly ethnic Berbers. Located on an old date trade route, Siwa was an oasis vital to the trade route, as the natural springs and shade giving palm trees gave travelers respite from the desert. With the collapse of the Roman Empire, Siwa began its decline. In recent decades tourism has become a vital source of income. Much attention has been given to creating hotels that use local materials and play on local styles.

Egyptian Museum

Egyptian Museum

Home to at least 120,000 items of ancient Egyptian antiquities, the Egyptian Museum is one of Cairo’s top attraction. There are two main floors of the museum, the ground floor and the first floor. On the ground floor there is an extensive collection of papyrus and coins used in by the ancient Egyptians. On the first floor there are artifacts from the final two dynasties of Ancient Egypt and also many artifacts taken from the Valley of the Kings. Highlights include the objects from the Tomb of Tutankhamen and the Royal Mummy Room containing 27 royal mummies from pharaonic times.

Abu Simbel

Abu Simbel

Abu Simbel is an archaeological site comprising two massive rock-cut temples in southern Egypt on the western bank of Lake Nasser. The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses The Great in the 13th century BC, as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari.  The complex was relocated in its entirety in the 1960s, when the temples were threatened by submersion in Lake Nasser, due to the construction of the Aswan High Dam. Abu Simbel remains one of Egypt’s top tourist attractions.

River Nile Cruise

River Nile Cruise

Cruising the Nile is a popular way of visiting upper Egypt. The Nile River has been Egypt’s lifeline since ancient times and there is no better way to trace the passage of Egypt’s history than to follow the course of the Nile.  Almost all Egyptian cruise ships travel the Luxor-Aswan route which is safe, scenic and terminates at two of Egypt’s most important towns. Taking a Felucca down the Nile is an adventurous option. Feluccas are sail boats that have been used on the Nile since antiquity. A Felucca is not quite as comfortable as a luxury cruise ship but nothing can beat sailing in a quiet rig that was designed thousands of years ago.

Red Sea Reef

Red Sea Reef

The Red Sea, off the coast of Egypt, is one of the most beautiful places in the world to go diving. The waters of the Red Sea are renowned for their spectacular visibility and features some of the most exotic seascapes. With its wide expanse of coral formation on the reefs, it is home to thousands of different sea creatures. Red Sea beach resorts are located on both sides of the sea, on the east side and part of the Sinai peninsula is the long established Sharm el Sheikh and its neo-hippy counterpart, Dahab. On the west coast of the Red Sea lies relatively old and touristy Hurghada and a cluster of new resort towns.

Karnak

Karnak

Although badly ruined, few sites in Egypt are more impressive than Karnak. It is the largest ancient religious site ever built, and represents the combined achievement of many generations of Egyptian builders. The Temple of Karnak actually consists of three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples located about 2.5 kilometers north of Luxor. One of most famous structures of Karnak is the Hypostyle Hall, a hall area of 5,000 m2 (50,000 sq ft) with 134 massive columns arranged in 16 rows.

Pyramids of Giza

#1 of Top Attractions In Egypt

The Pyramids of Giza, situated in the immediate vicinity of the southwestern suburbs of Cairo are the undisputable top attractions in Egypt. The pyramids at Giza were built over the span of three generations – by Khufu, his second reigning son Khafre, and Menkaure. The Great Pyramid of Khufu is an awe-inspiring 139 meters (455 feet) high making it the largest pyramid in Egypt, although nearby Khafre’s Pyramid appears to be larger as it is build at a higher elevation.

I really hope that one day I could get the opportunity to visit this historical country!

I would like to say a huge thank you to S-trip that will award a free trip to the social media queen!

In life there can be many first time experiences that become a special part of our memories. Destined to never be forgotten, they can seem as real today as the day they happened. Maybe the first day of school or even your first kiss. Very memorable and exciting events. What special memories are forever etched into our minds?

The first of July I ran my first marathon in moonbeam, it was a 10k marathon. It was my second time running a 10k and I got to beat my time of 15 minutes! My first marathon was such a great feeling. The race began at 9am so it was the perfect temperature to run. Not too cold and not too hot. My goal was not too be the first, I wasn’t even worried of being last, my goal was to finish it. It was hard but the kind of exhaustion you feel after a marathon is a whole different kind of tired. You are completely drained of all physical, emotional, and mental strength. Every muscle in my legs were burning, and they were hurting a lot. When you past the  finish line the sense of relief is enormous. Your brain can finally shut down, the splits, the mile markers, the worrying about the pace, too fast, too slow, too soon, too late, it’s over. Was it worth it? Oh Yeah! No regrets. I can’t wait to run my next marathon! Next year, I am thinking of doing a half marathon! With motivation, you can achieve anything!

You should all try to run a marathon, it is such a good experience:)

Hello! For this blog assignment  we have to create a 30 second commercial on what we would do to catch the audience’s attention and increase the sell of personalized towels.

I would like to start by saying thank you to Signature Towels.  for sponsoring the miss teen Canada world pageant.  Signature towels are towels that you can add your unique personal touch to. You can have it in any colors you want and you can add your name or your initials on it. It is a perfect gift that you can offer to your loved ones or a gift you can make yourself! Also, its a gift for a boy or a girl and for all ages. Everybody needs a towel right?

WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE SIGNATURE TOWELS?

  • Perfect gift
  • Personal gift
  • Everyone uses towels, you can’t go wrong with it as a gift
  • Signature Towels gives you the option of making it unique for the person you like toEach product is carefully researched until we are satisfied that the quality befits our brand. We take pride in offering only the highest quality product. gift; fun and trendy, or elegant and classic
  • They offer good service and they want to keep a good relationship with their customers.
  • They strive to keep their costs low so they can deliver excellent quality gift services at very reasonable prices.
  • No matter the quantity or specifications, Signature Towels ensures to have the order exceed to customer’s expectations.

Have you ever been in a situation were you fought over a towel? Many people has, especially in big families . In my 30 second commercial I want to show how many advantages there is to have a personalized signature towel. There are many things I could show in the commercial, I definitely would capture all the uses there is for this type of towel. For example, you could bring it to the beach, you could bring it to the public pool, you can use it in your own bathroom and many more. Lets see what I would capture in my 30 second commercial on the advantages of a signature towel.

The first 10 second scene would be in  a public pool where there is a lot of people and sometimes when you come out of the pool you only want to get your towel to warm up. It happens that you take the wrong towel or someone takes yours by accident. By having a signature towel you would immediately see  that your name is on it and you would  be sure that it is yours. In my commercial I would capture kids playing in the pool and then there would be a little boy coming out of the pool and running to get his towel because he is freezing, I would show 2 identical blue towels but then on one of them there would be the little boys name so he would know that its his towel.

The other 10 second scene would start with the song splish splash by Bobby Darin and there will be two little girls playing in a bath and having a good time. The first 5 second of the scene would be when the little comes out of the bath they start fighting over their towels. What wouldn’t siblings fight over right? So the girls are fighting because there is a pink towel and a purple one and they both one the pink one. They are screaming and fighting and pushing each other until mom stops doing the dishes and comes in to stop the fight. In the other half of this scene, I would show the same scenario. The two little girls laughing and splashing each other. The difference is that when the two little girls comes out and take there towel without fighting because they have their names written on it. Not only it stopped the fight, but mom didn’t have to stop doing the dishes to stop the fight.

In the last 10 second scene. There would be sad music playing. When a little boy comes out of the shower and is looking for his towel, he see’s that its not there. He screams for his mom to bring a towel and she answers that they are all in the laundry! His mother is mad because she has so many laundry to do with all these towels!  After this scene there would be the same scenario again, but, when the little boy comes out of the shower there would be 5 towels on a hook with each of the family member’s name so he won’t have to scream to his mother to get a towel.

Like you noticed, not only is the signature towel a great gift that will last long and be personalized. It also creates a better atmosphere in the family. It reduce fighting between sibling and it is also environmental friendly because there is not as much laundry to do.  I know that in my case, half of the laundry is only with towels, imagine how much laundry we would save with Signature towels!  How often are we looking for ideas to buy gifts for a birthday or Christmas or any special occasions? Instead of buying a card with money or a gift certificate, signature towels would definitely be better! From now on, when I need to buy a gift for someone on special occasions, I will buy signature towel gifts!

Hi everyone, I’m writing a post today for my dad on Father’s day. Do you know what father means?  Father means being Faithful , being Always there, Trustworthy, Honoring, Ever-loving, Righteous and Supportive.  I would like to take the time today to write about what a great man and of course a great father he is. Since I’m a little girl , he has always been there to support me and to encourage me to be the best I can be. It started with figure skating, he was always there to teach me how to give my hundred percent in every practice to get better at it. Then it was with hockey, he encouraged me to shoot my pucks everyday to get better, he though me how to work hard and to never give up. He also does the same thing with my brother and sister that are both in travelling team. He is the best hockey coach ever. When I had a hard time with mathematics, he was always there to help me and do extra examples to practice and get better! He truly is a hero and I would like to thank him for everything he does for me and the whole family!

Dad, we appreciate everything you do for us.

sincerely,

your daughter that loves you very much.

Miss teen Hearst world 🙂
